A new and unread looking HARDBACK FIRST EDITION of this brilliant book, in its original hardback first printing from 1984, which was issued without a jacket. Famously untitled, and introducing a prize contest – the golden hare, which led to a nationwide search – cryptically hidden throughout the book.

It is a follow-up to his previous treasure hunt book Masquerade, although not a direct sequel. The book was initially published without a visible title; readers were challenged to discover the book’s proper title and would win a prize for sending the right answer in the most creative way. In the publisher’s original pictorial boards, with the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, pictorial boards are in lovely condition, with just a hint of sunning to the upper extremities of the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally very bright and clean, except for a couple of faint marks to the front pastedown, front free endpaper and title page.
