The Language of Flowers, Floral Emblems by Robert Tyas, author of Favourite Field Flowers and Flowers from the Holy Land.

Floriography and the Victorian Language of Flowers is a particular interest and passion of mine, and it is so rare to find any original books from this time so I am excited to share this very special book!

Published 1875 by George Routledge & Sons

This book has a beautifully illustrated cover with flowers, a decorative spine, and illustrations within! This book also has a green cover with gold gilt lettering. The cover is slightly worn with some scuffs to the bottom and top of the spine. Spine slightly detached but has now been glued back on.  There is the odd light inky thumb mark and a large watermark on the bottom right corner of the interior page and some ensuing pages  The spine has some cracking  and is visible where the book block is attached to the endpapers and the netting is visible occasionally. The endpapers some previous small inscriptions . However, I think it is in lovely condition for its age and rarity!
