A hardcover edition with maroon boards, gilt lettering and a front endpiece with rice paper and portrait. There is a previous owner’s paper label on the inside front board. There is foxing and toning throughout but the text is clear and legible. There is some rubbing to the edges of the book – after all, it is 120 years old. There is tissue paper over the title page.
