A summary of productions and actors at London’s venerable Old Vic Theatre from 1947 through 1956. Many of the plays performed were by Shakespeare, but also included works by Bernard Shaw, Marlowe, French dramatists such as Anouilh, Russians such as Gogol and Greeks such as Sophocles. A sequel to “Old Vic Drama”.
A hard cover edition with bottle green boards, gilt lettering and clipped, illustrated dust jacket. There is foxing and toning throughout but the text and black and white photographs are clear and legible. The dust jacket has some fading, staining and tears to the edges. There is a previous owners ink inscription on two separate pages. One page loose. Now in a clear, removable cover to protect from damage.
