This book serves as a catalog for an exhibition at Axis Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. Paintings (1979-1988), list of paintings, about the artist. Full color with many images following Native American subjects and themes. John Nieto, whose family has long lived in New Mexico, utilizes intense primary colors, applied in bold strokes to give dimension and character to the canvas. In all of Nieto’s art, sensitivity and respect for his subject are projected. He concentrates on capturing in his work his unique vision of the subjects he paints on canvases of vibrant, electric hues.

A hard cover edition with navy blue cloth boards, gilt lettering and unclipped, illustrated dust cover. There is some slight toning but the text and colour illustrations are clear and legible. There is some rubbing and wear to the edges of the dust jacket. Now in a clear, removable cover to protect from damage.
