James Michener spent much time in Spain. His extensive travel and deep study there gave him abundant knowledge and insight on which to base this monumental book that he had for so long wanted to write. It is informal, discursive, anecdotal, and highly entertaining. There is a wealth of information about Spain from prehistoric times to the present day. The reader will find much about the history and development of Spain. Photographs by Robert Vavra enhances the text. BOOK DETAILS: The contents are clean, tight and sound throughout. Some light foxing to pages due to age. The red boards are clean and unmarked, with only minimal wear. The gold lettering on the spine is clear and bright. The dustwrapper is not in good condition. The front fold-in flap is missing and there is a small piece of the wrapper at the head of the spine missing. Dustwrapper, because of the lack of the front fold-in flap does not sit properly on the book. A very good copy. Profusely illustrated. and with maps to the eps. 818pp. (incl. index).
