In 1876 Gilbert collected fifty of his favourite poems in Fifty “Bab” Ballads– Much Sound and Little Sense, with one poem being collected for the first time (“Etiquette”) and twenty-five poems that had appeared in the earlier volumes being left out.

Description

A hard cover edition with illustrated front and back cover and gold embossing and titles. The binding is loose and a number of pages are detached. There is some wear  and rubbing to the edges of the book. There is foxing and toning throughout but the text and black and white drawings are clear and legible. There is a sepia ink inscription on the inside front page. There is a piece missing from the centre of page 243.
