This book mostly concerns itself with the culpability of certain Jesuit Priests in the formation and execution of the Gunpowder Plot. It seeks to show that the Jesuits were not only aware of the plot but that they whole-heartedly approved of it.

A hardcover, leather-bound edition with gilt lettering and self-embossing. There is a previous owner’s label and a previous seller’s label on the inside front board. The book is quite heavily foxed and there is toning throughout but the text, black and white and sepia illustrations are clear and legible. There is some rubbing on the edges of the book and some marks on the front cover.
