Full page colour plates. Title page and first flyleaf loose. An 1897 inscription in black ink and pencil on back inside pages. Foxing and soiling throughout. Original light brown pictorial cloth over bevelled boards, spine lettered in brown, upper cover lettered in gilt (cover title: Pictures by Landseer), ruled and blocked with design in dark brown and black; wear and danmage to corners. Small tear to some pages. Illustrated by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, the foremost animal painter of his day.
