Robinson met and wrote extensively on famous Romantic and early Victorian figures, with this collection focusing on his portraits of literary figures. Volume I contains extracts from 1775-1834, volume II 1835-1867, and volume III letters to various figures such as J.P. Collier.

A 1938  3 volume hard cover edition with red cloth and gilt lettering on spines. The dust jackets are unclipped and  all three volumes have rubbing, age toning and tearing. there is some rubbing and fading to the cloth covers of the books.
