The ONLINE Bibliotherapy Session.
In the wake of Covid 19 and mandatory self-isolation, we at Gertrude & Alice believe that books are more important than ever, so we’ve come up with a way of connecting our customers with books even during lockdown. Teaming up with award-winning book blogger, Lucy Pearson from The Literary Edit, we’ve decided to launch a Bibliotherapist service. Created to cure readers of their literary ailments during both quarantine and self-isolation, the service is designed for anyone looking to escape into the pages of a book.
Through a dedicated Zoom consultation, Lucy, our in-house Bibliotherapist, will find the perfect book for each person; whether it be a classic tome, contemporary novel or inspiring memoir, and she will go on to offer a bespoke prescription for each person to inspire, entertain and even help those feeling anxious at this time.
Since self-isolation has come into effect in Sydney, Gertrude & Alice has been inundated with reading requests from both regular customers and new readers, who are hoping to seek solace among the pages of a book in these uncertain times. We wanted to launch a package that would serve the local community and beyond, and couldn’t think of anyone better to partner with than host of our Bondi Literary Salon, Lucy from The Literary Edit. An avid and voracious reader her depth of knowledge when it comes to books is unrivalled, and we believe she’s the best person around to incite a love of literature in the people of Sydney.
Our Bibliotherapist service is a personal book recommendation consultation. For $75.00, customers will be sent a questionnaire or allocated a zoom consultation with Lucy to discover more about their bookish tastes. Lucy will then hand-pick three books which will be delivered directly to their door to enjoy alongside one of Gertrude & Alice’s famous sweet treats.
